Congratulations LZHS Interns!
The District 95 Educational Foundation was delighted to sponsor three internships this summer. We are hopeful this successful program will continue to expand and provide our students with exciting new learning opportunities.
Ela Library Makerspace Internship Assignment
Our intern learned how non-profit organizations work to assist needs in the local community. This assignment was in the Ela Library’s makerspace area called Forge. This position introduced the intern to core makerspace technologies such as 3D printing and circuitry kits and assisted library patrons with various technologies. This assignment also tested new equipment, including virtual reality gear and provided feedback to Ela Library staff.
D95 Foundation and Joanie’s Closet Internship Assignment
Our intern learned how non-profit organizations work to assist needs in the local community. The intern
utilized inventory and project management skills while assisting in the creation of
school supply kits for under-resourced District 95 students in addition to learning how nonprofit
organizations manage events, support community needs and encourage volunteer
involvement. This year over 320 kits were created.
Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce Internship Assignment
Our intern assisted with the development and implementation of a marketing plan that included communications with area press and social media to promote the Chamber’s annual Taste of the Towns event on August 20, 2017.
