The “Smart Schools. Bright Futures.” campaign was a 3-year campaign to raise funds to supplement School District 95’s technology budget for enhanced technology throughout our eight schools. The goal of the campaign was to raise $250,000 for the purpose of providing students and staff with the technology needed to remain continuous learners in the 21st Century. We have begun the 2013-2014 school year with new and continued initiatives including:
- Continued funding of teacher innovation grants totaling $57,321 as of the end of 2012-13
- A new Creative Spaces Grant program that adapts the classrooms to optimally integrate technology and student interaction.
- The initiation of the E-Library project started with $52,000 of the “Smart Schools Bright Futures.” campaign funding in July with expansions planned for this school year.
- The creation of a Lake Zurich High School Alumni Association.
With the $250,000 that has been raised, the Foundation was also able to provide funds for the Flipped Classroom pilots at Middle School North and Middle School South along with the purchase of over 90 technology enhancements ranging from software applications and on-line books to iPads, iTouches and laptops throughout the schools in our District.
The funding for that technology and each of the programs listed above has been provided by generous donations by our District families along with local business and industry support.
